Freeriding is hard to define ...
but using gravity usually is part of it. Pure
DH, NorthShore styles, Moose Mountain ripping, and increasingly,
bike park trails are all examples of this style of riding.
Freeride
bikes are usually a bit heavier, built up with very durable
parts and have between 6 and 9 inches of travel.

They are usually harder to pedal up hills
so shuttling, chairlifts and plain ol' pushin' are part
of the game. But going down is what these bikes are all
about ... stable, plush and fast. |
