cool new stuff at mbc

If you haven't been by the shop for a while ... come on by. We are in full summer mode ... bikes, bikes, bikes!

New this year is the addition of Masi bicycles ... beautiful artistry ... the Speciale Fixed is the coolest bike ever. I want one!

Sombrio clothing is in the shop ... be the best dressed at the trailhead. Very, very functional as well.

Along with Shimano footwear, we are pleased to announce that MBC is carrying Northwave bike shoes. Only the best for you.

gravity bikes

Freeriding is hard to define ... but using gravity usually is part of it. Pure DH, NorthShore styles and Moose Mountain ripping are all examples of this style of riding. Freeride bikes are usually a bit heavier, built up with very durable parts and have between 6 and 9 inches of travel. They are usually harder to pedal up hills so shuttling, chairlifts and plain ol' pushin' are part of the game. But going down is what these bikes are all about ... stable, plush and fast.

anti gravity bikes

Trailbikes are antigravity bikes ... they are a HUGE category ... everything trom modern 5 inch travel bikes, pure cross country racing bikes and entry level hardtails ... as long as you can climb on them and rip a smooth line downhill on them ... they are a trailbike. This is probably the most "all around" style of bike you can own ... you can usually do a bit of everything on these bikes.

the library

For the latest local trail conditions, bike gossip, and the occasional rant ... breezers trail reports are back for another season. Our library page also has all the weather info, manufacturer info, trail conditions, and all the other cool stuff you could possibly need.

components

The most impressive feature of the XTR group is its universality. Shifting can be with Dual-Control or Rapid Fire Plus pod shifter, rotors are available in Centerloc or 6-bolt universal mounting, rear derailleurs come with rapid-rise or traditional function, the XTR crankset adopts current XT-style chainring set-up and the new XTR pedals are cross compatible with the rest of Shimano’s off-road pedal line. Offering six-bolt disc rotors means a rider can use Shimano’s discs on any bike with any wheelset they choose.

Kona and Cannondale bikes at mbc...

All the new bikes by Kona and Cannondale are in the house, and boy, we are building up a lot of bikes! Stinky's, Coiler's, Dawg's ... Perp's, Judge's, Chase's and all the rest of the 08 lineups have arrived at our back door and are sitting in our showroom. The hot new bike from Cannondale this year is the Moto ... On the face of it, mountain bike designs change very little. This means the ideal bike is one that's light and nimble enough to ride on single-track, with the burly qualities of a big mountain rig. It's an all-new breed of mountain bike that's so versatile it defies categorization.

Marin is back! The Quake 7.2 is an awesome choice for those of you who need 7 inches of bump eating travel. This is a very cool bike ... drop by and pedal one around. We also have Marin bikes from the Quad XC and Quad Trail lineups ... very good trail riding choices.

Want a one of a kind bike! Spend some time with our knowledgable staff and have us build up a true performance machine for you. Hand built frames by Turner and Intense ... the best bikes money can buy! You know you want one!

What should you ride? How do you ride? Do you like to use gravity, do you fight gravity, do you ride the park, the road or use a bike to commute? Our experienced full time staff will listen and help you pick the right bike. 'Cause if you can't have one of each, you've got to make the right call!

urban

Dirt Jumping bikes are smallish hardtails with 26" wheels and built up with a very strong parts spec. They can be used in skate parks, on bmx tracks and for urban assault riding (a style of riding which incorperates elements of freeriding and trials in an urban setting). These are great bikes for kids or as a play bike for adults. All the skills you develop on one of these will be transfered over to your dirt riding.

road bikes

Road bikes aren't just for roadies anymore ... they are a great way to put in some base training miles and are a great recovery ride option. They are built for speed, riding on a relatively smooth surface ... if you haven't ridden drop bars in a while ... try it out! Cyclocross bikes are a bit more durable and are designed for racing on smooooth dirt.

we carry the full line of Kona kids bikes

Our biggest beef with kid’s bikes, is how a bike that small could weigh more than their music and math teacher combined (not really ... but we’re making a point here).

Good kids get good bikes. Bad kids get bad bikes. Kona kids are good kids; so if you so happen to have a good kid, buy 'em a Kona bike. If you’ve got a bad kid…. call (write the name of your least favorite bike company here....).
